2020 BELMA Newsletter No 4

BELMA 2020 - Newsletter No 4

Dear colleague,

We hope you are all doing well and staying healthy. A return to a less restricted life seems possible, in some countries schools are reopening.

Today is officially the last day you can register your product with the special early bird discount. However, we're happy to tell you we're able to extend the discount until May 31st.

In addition we're extending the registration deadline to June 10th. As you know, the shortlisted entries will be published at the end of June, so June 10th is the very last date for registration.

After a slow start we have now already received a good number of interesting and exciting titles. It's great to see that despite all the difficulties you are continuing to produce great products - so keep them coming. You can upload them to our secure server. If a title has more than one part (for example: Student's Book and Teacher's Book), you can put them in one folder and zip them before uploading. Of course, you can still send physical copies but please make sure to do that as quickly as possible since they have to be re-distributed to the jury members via snail mail.

A couple of interesting points have come up when we were looking at some of the submissions received over the last few weeks:
  • Increasingly there are products that span more than one category, for example pedagogical guides. Please decide in which category they would fit best. If not sure, please contact Jean-Claude Lasnier.
  • Digital products that are based on the same platform but are for different topics/subjects and are distributed separately, should also be entered separately.
  • If your entry consists of different media, please make sure that everything is there for the jury to evaluate. There is probably no need to upload all the teacher's material for one course but you should provide adequate examples.
But as always - when in doubt - give us a shout.

So, we'll update you before registration finishes but in the meantime we wish you

Best of luck
Helga & Jean-Claude
