BELMA Newsletter 2019 No 2
This year seems to be a very exciting but also unsettling year for educational publishers. Not only is the copyright situation still not resolved (and might not be before the elections for European parliament in May), but there are also new curriculum developments in many European countries. Some people have contacted us to say that they would love to take part in BELMA. However, they are either very much involved in new developments that cannot be shown yet or they are just about to start revising existing products. But we still believe that especially in these unsettling times, when governments get crazy ideas about education, cut budgets or put money into the wrong channels, it is important to make a stand and showcase the very best materials that you are producing.
So here is a little reminder of what you can submit:
In the continuing debate about OER, free resources for teaching and learning and of course the copyright debate, it is important to show how innovative and creative the educational publishing industry is. So, we are trying to make an even bigger splash this year by giving the winners more opportunity to showcase their products at the Frankfurt Book Fair. Also, this year, all short listed entries will receive a button that can be used as promotion for the product. The short-listed titles will be announced in June.
You still have three weeks to register - if you have any questions, get in touch and we will gladly help you.
Please inform any colleagues of yours, who might be interested in taking part, about BELMA. We will be pleased to send them the newsletter as well.
