Best European Learning Materials Awards

Published learning materials may be entered for the competition under one of the four categories.

Special Prize
Every year, the jury awards a special prize (formerly known as MeritAward) to one product from any of the four categories. This product should demonstrate an innovative and creative teaching and learning approach. In 2017, the jury will pay special attention to all materials that deal with the issues of second language acquisition or literacy or diversity and inclusion.

The Best European Learning Materials Awards are presented every year to high quality educational materials that have been produced in any country in Europe. An international jury of experts evaluates all products and gives written feedback on the entries, describing the strengths and weaknesses. Some of the evaluation criteria were demonstrated in a presentation held by Prof. Dr. Christoph Bläsi during the 2015 Awards Ceremony.

In 2016, the Awards ceremony has taken place on Wednesday, 19 October at 4 pm in the Education Forum in hall 4.2 at the Frankfurt Book Fair. The ceremony was opened by Joseph Laudien, Hessisches Kultusministerium (Ministry of Education in the state of Hessen).
